Who is responsible for your data
Lanzarote Guide is run by Paveu Media - Paweł Cybulko (Polish tax ID, NIP: 6040092804), which is the data controller for this site. Because we are based in Poland the EU GDPR applies to our processing, and the UK GDPR applies as well when you visit from the United Kingdom.
Cookies and similar storage
Nothing optional is stored on your device until you say yes. The first time you visit we ask whether we may use Google Analytics cookies. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and the site works exactly the same either way. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we treat it as a refusal and do not show the banner unprompted.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It runs in Google Consent Mode v2: before you accept, the Google tag is not loaded at all, so nothing is sent to Google. Advertising signals stay switched off, Google Signals and ad personalisation are disabled, IP addresses are handled by Google in a shortened form, and the analytics cookies expire after 13 months rather than the default two years. We never use this data for advertising and we do not sell it.
Data is processed by Google Ireland Limited as our processor. Google may transfer data outside the European Economic Area under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Changing your mind
You can change your decision at any time with , which is also in the footer of every page. Rejecting analytics deletes the Google Analytics cookies that were already set and stops any further data being sent from that moment.
Server logs
The server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs: IP address, time, the address requested and browser identification. They exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse, they are not combined with analytics data, and they are not used to build a profile of anyone.
Legal basis
Analytics cookies are set on the basis of your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and the PECR/ePrivacy rules on storing information on your device). Server logs are kept on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or to object to it, and you can withdraw consent at any time without giving a reason. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Advertising and affiliate links
This site currently carries no advertising and no affiliate links, and we take no commission from anyone mentioned on it. If that changes we will say so here first, name the partner, and ask for separate consent where the law requires it.
Links to other sites
Pages link to Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Google Maps. Those sites set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies; opening them is your choice and we have no control over what they store.
Changes to this page
If the scope of what we store changes, the consent banner asks everyone again rather than relying on an older decision.
